Biography

Prof. Tejas F. Vasava is currently the Lecturer of Jindal School of Psychology & Counselling. He has more than 9 years of experience in relevant mental health clinical settings. His experience involves serving diverse range of populations such as drug abusers, adult psychiatric individuals and their caregiver, children with mental health conditions. He has acquired M.Phil degree under the rigorous teaching and supervision of mental health professionals from NIMHANS. He has recently submitted his PhD thesis at NIMHANS, Bengaluru.

Research Experience

Prof. Tejas F. Vasava, while perusing MPhil Degree has submitted thesis titled “A Study on Self Esteem and Social Competence among the Children of Parents with Mental Illness” at NIMHANS, Bengaluru. He has also submitted his PhD thesis titled “Factors Associated with Family Retention in Treatment of Persons with Schizophrenia”. He was also awarded with Junior Research Fellowship from University Grant Commission by clearing the National Eligibility Test for assistant professor. He had presented a paper on “A Study on Self Esteem and Social Competence among the Children of Parents with Mental Illness” on 4th January 2019 at 37th Annual National Conference of ISPSW 2019.

Prof. Tejas Vasava has served as Psychiatric Social worker and junior consultant at NIMHANS for more than five years where he has provided active supervision and teaching to the pre-doctoral research scholars, block placement trainees in terms of psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, intervention plan and implementation, after care and rehabilitation of persons with mental illness and their caregivers.
