Biography

Dr. Nitika Kumar has completed her graduation from Indraprastha college for women and post graduation from University of Delhi with first division. She has done her PhD from University of Delhi in the area of understanding the archetypal psyche of women in Indian context. Her work falls in the purview of Jungian analytical psychology. She has been a Senior Research fellow at the Indian Council of Medical Research and is a member of the USA-India Jung foundation. She has cleared UGC NET for two consecutive years.

Her academic engagements include a brief stint at a prominent public school in Delhi, followed by Guest and Ad-Hoc engagements at University of Delhi during the tenure of her doctoral degree. Post that she has worked for over four years in Private universities teaching psychology and related subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students in psychology. Presently, she is working as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the Jindal School of Psychology and Counselling, O.P. Jindal Global University.

Dr. Kumar has led various workshops for children and adolescents as well as academic training and internships for students of psychology for over ten years. She has conducted emotional regulation and management sessions for children of workers with the NTPC in Noida and has conducted wellness sessions for a few prominent MNC’s. She is empanelled as visiting senior psychologist for consultation with various prominent institutes like Inspiring Minds working pan India, Fitcy health based in the UAE and Anubhuti clinic based in North Delhi where she’s been seeing clients with various concerns for over ten years and conducting workshops for patients and interns. She has also featured in French News channel News one for a report on selfie craze in India and has interviewed with You tube channels and has articles on mental health published in Times online.

Dr. Kumar has a few research publications to her credit while she is also actively supervising several research students. Her areas of interest include Jungian analytical psychology, dream work, archetypal studies of stories, tales and mythology. Counseling and therapeutic psychology, personality studies, emotional and social intelligence and social psychology are her other allied interests.
