Biography

Dr. Nisha Phakey is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of Psychology and Counseling, specializing in Clinical Psychology. She holds a Ph.D. in Behavioral Sciences from O. P. Jindal Global University and an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from IMH, PGIMS, Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences. Dr. Phakey has extensive teaching experience, having previously taught at institutions like Christ University NCR, Amity University, Punjab, and Chitkara University, Punjab. She has also worked with Lady Hardinge Medical College in the Pediatrics and Psychiatry departments on ICMR and DST-funded projects, where she was also actively involved in providing clinical services. Dr. Phakey is dedicated to bridging theory and practice, mentoring students, and advancing the field through her comprehensive teaching and research efforts.

Research Experience

Dr. Phakey is a researcher and educator specializing in clinical psychology and behavioral sciences. Her M.Phil. research explored the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and generalized anxiety disorder, while her Ph.D. focused on developing and validating a scale for assessing social cognition among adolescents and young adults. She has been involved in ICMR-funded projects, where she worked on addressing working memory deficits in children with epilepsy by developing an intervention module that included a mobile-based application and a play kit to enhance their working memory. Dr. Phakey has also supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research dissertations at her previous institutions. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, contributing valuable insights into mental health and psychological assessment.

Teaching Experience

Dr. Phakey has an extensive background in teaching psychology at institutions like Christ University NCR, Amity University, and Chitkara University Punjab. She has taught various courses, including psychopathology, clinical neuropsychology, and child and adolescent mental health, psychotherapy.
