Biography

Dr. Kriti Gupta, Assistant Professor and licensed clinical psychologist, has obtained her graduation and post-graduation degrees from the University of Allahabad. After earning her M.Phil degree in Clinical psychology from IHBAS, New Delhi, she enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT-Patna) to pursue her doctoral degree in Indian psychology. Her Ph.D. thesis has presented mixed-method research on the psycho-spiritual concepts of anasakti (non-attachment) and ahamkara (ego). In her work, along with finding the commonality between their philosophical descriptions given in Bhagavadgita and Yogasutras, she explored the associated meanings, perceptions and practices prevalent in the Indian population. In 2023, she received Earnst E. Boesch award by the German Society of Cultural Psychology for her doctoral work. Her research on integrating Indian psychological concepts with contemporary mental health research has been recognised in various prominent psychology journals.
