Dr. Deepali Taneja has a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Department of Psychology, University of Delhi. As a part of her doctoral research, she has undertaken a research on peer mediated sibling support group, a one of a kind intervention in India. Her research is one of the firsts in India focussing on understanding the needs of typically developing siblings of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Prior to her Ph.D., she completed her Masters and Bachelors in Psychology with an outstanding performance from the University of Delhi, and has also been awarded University Gold Medal. She has over a decade long experience in the autism community, and is an expert in the area of autism and other disabilities. Her professional experience of over 10-year includes heading research, trainings and well as communications for Action for Autism, National Centre for Autism in India. Her professional experience also includes rich clinical work in the field of autism, including assessments, psychotherapy as well as counselling individuals with autism and their families.
Her academic journey started as assistant professor at G.D Goenka University, where she has taught multiple courses to students studying Bachelors and Masters in Psychology, as well as guiding Ph.D. scholars. She joined O.P Jindal University in the year 2022, and is currently an associate professor at the Jindal School of Psychology and Counselling. Since joining JGU she has taught multiple core courses as well as elective courses. She is also a founder director of Centre for Neurodiversity Studies (CNS), a research centre focussing on neuro-affirmative practices and research.
