Biography

Dr. Sadananda Reddy is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of Psychology & Counselling. Dr. Reddy obtained his Doctoral Degree from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), and his work centred around the Development and Feasibility Testing of a Supported Education Programme for Students with Mental Health Issues. His pre-doctoral work focused on Pathways to Psychiatric Care in Children and Adolescents with First Episode Psychosis from the Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi. He was also a Research Fellow in the IMPACT Project, NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research), funded through the University of York, UK. Dr. Reddy has experience as an assistant professor at Christ (Deemed a University), central campus Bengaluru. He also worked as a Psychiatric Social Worker (PSW) in the Department of Psychiatric Social Work at the NIMHANS, Bengaluru. He has presented several research papers at national and international conferences and published several papers in Scopus-indexed journals. Dr. Reddy was also Awarded an ICSSR Research grant in 2023 for a project called "Exploring the Mental Health Help Seeking Practices and Policies among Higher Educational Institutions in Bangalore: A qualitative study". Dr Reddy is a Trainer, Educator, and Mental Health Practitioner.

2012- Received Gold Medal for presenting a scientific paper entitled "Psychological Wellbeing, Coping Behavior, and Perceived Expressed Emotions among alcohol-dependent patients" in the category of ISPSW best paper under the M.Chandra Shekar Rao award in Social Work Research.
