On behalf of 'The Centre for Translation, Print, and Publishing Studies' (CTPPS) at The Jindal School of Languages and Literature, organized a JSLL-CTPPS talk by Nishtha Gautam titled: 'Translating the Gods'
Abstract: Imagine Indian mythology as a multiverse. Now imagine the literary translator as someone operating in this multiverse. Who or what is she? What challenges does she face? What are her superpowers? Is she Dr Strange? If so, is she more of Defender or Sinister? Unravel the mystery of the world of literary translation in the context of the latest release, Sita’s Veil, an English translation of a Hindi retelling of the Ramayana.
