We work to advance knowledge on social innovation and entrepreneurship and bring together networks of global actors working to address some of the most pressing global challenges.

The Sustainable Development Goals are a positive step. We believe increased levels of social innovation and entrepreneurship will bring us closer toward their achievement. JSiE offers comprehensive online courses on social enterprise and impact investing and with the support of our academic and technical partners, we have enrolled over 52,000 students from 159 countries around the world.

Collaboration is key to find solutions to complex social and economic problems. Through our global and regional partnerships, JSiE brings together knowledge and networks working towards innovation for social impact and entrepreneurship. Together with leading academic partners, JSiE hopes to advance this knowledge globally and shape pathways for future leaders.
Guiding startups that make a difference.
We believe nurturing entrepreneurship is key to achieving positive and sustainable change for communities and society. JSiE offers guidance, resources and practical knowledge to startup entrepreneurs. Our Tibetan Entrepreneurship Program has supported 20 new entrepreneurs in the last five years supporting them turning ideas into action and establishing self-reliant economic systems in their communities across India.
Accelerating research on social impact knowledge.
In addition to measuring economic growth and GDP, we need robust systems to measure social impact and wellbeing. We believe social impact should be structured as an academic discipline and generate actionable insights for practitioners. We seek to develop holistic strategies and recommendations for fostering social innovation in North India through our research.
The Jindal Centre for Social Innovation + Entrepreneurship was founded in 2014 at O.P. Jindal Global University with a vision to spur inclusive growth and development in India and globally. Our approach has been to strengthen the capacity for social innovation in North India, empower young leaders to take action, and connect them with a global network of people working to address the 21st century’s most pressing challenges.
In 2015, JSiE hosted the first batch of early-stage start-up entrepreneurs from the Tibetan refugee community in India for a five-week residential incubation program to provide support and training to the entrepreneurs.
JSiE co-created the FutureLearn Social Enterprise Program in partnership with Middlesex University London and Living in Minca, with support from the British Council.
JSiE was awarded the Global HEI Award in 2017 for our work in creating impact and innovation through social entrepreneurship and integrating the culture of social entrepreneurship in our institution and through our partnerships.
JSiE co-created a massive open online course in partnership with Asha Impact. The 4-week online course includes video interviews with leading investors in the field like the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Acumen Fund, Omidyar Network, Grameen Capital, Aavishkaar and more.
