I started my professional career in the Trinidad and Tobago Foreign Service in 2009. I worked in the Protocol and Consular Division and was a liaison officer for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting and Summit of Americas Conference which was held in Port of Spain.
Subsequently, I was posted to the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission, New Delhi where I served in the capacity of Second Secretary, First Secretary and High Commissioner (Ag.) and represented the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in India and other countries of accreditation including, Bangladesh, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
I have a decade of experience in foreign relations and diplomacy. I have served in national delegations, governmental sub-committees, participated in international conferences and contributed towards bilateral negotiations aimed at deepening and strengthening the relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and its global partners.
I received my graduate education at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus and recently pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) in Public International Law at the University of Nottingham where I was the recipient of a Developing Solutions Masters scholarship.
I have attended training programmes in diplomacy and International Law such as Young Diplomats Programme, London, Xiamen Academy of International Law, Xiamen University and the Munich Advanced Course in International Law, Ludwig Maximilian University.
My research interests include Public International Law, Human Rights, Public Law and Issues in the Politics of Latin America and the Caribbean.
