Public Lecture on Does India Need a Feminist Foreign Policy?
Monday 21st April, 2025 | 06:00 PM – 07:00 PM
Abstract:
What makes a country's foreign policy feminist? What is the connection between feminist foreign policy (FFP) and domestic policies on promoting inclusive leadership, women-led development and building violence-free societies? Has the adoption of FFPs by several countries in the West and the Global South aided in strengthening human-centric, gender-responsive peace and security regionally and globally? In this lecture, Dr. Debotri Dhar will draw upon her decade-plus experience of teaching, writing and policy engagement to discuss the relevance of feminist foreign policy in an Indian political and cultural context.
