Biography

Dr. Preethi Amaresh is a distinguished political scientist who earned her Doctorate in International Relations (DIR) in an accelerated timeframe of just 2.5 years from the Geneva School of Diplomacy in Switzerland.  

Dr. Amaresh is the author of four influential books:  Nihonomics (2019), Nànmín (2021), Ninengan Mae (2022), and Namastey Bharat (2023). Additionally, she serves as one of the editors for CyberDiplomacy (2025).

In addition to her published works, Dr. Amaresh has made significant contributions to the field of international relations through a diverse array of articles, research papers, and op-eds published in esteemed journals and news platforms. Her insights have attracted attention from numerous prominent national and international media outlets, solidifying her reputation as one of the merging young voices in the discipline from India.

With nearly two decades of extensive travel to almost 40 countries, she has engaged with diverse global audiences and presented her research at prestigious institutions worldwide, as well as at several leading universities across India. Since 2015, Dr. Amaresh has accumulated substantial experience through various internships and positions at esteemed organizations, both in India and internationally, including the UNHCR and ICCR, among others.

Post her Doctorate, she has actively participated in a variety of events focused on diplomacy, climate change, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies at prominent organizations in Geneva, including the WTO, WHO, ITU, UNITAR, UNIDIR, GEN, ICRC, CERN, Geneva Academy, the AI for Good Summit (ITU), and Africa 2050. Additionally, she has spoken at the United Nations Office in Geneva.

Dr. Amaresh served as the Manager of the Cyber Diplomacy and International Relations department at the United Service Institution- CyberPeace CCoE in New Delhi until July 2025.
