Biography

Dr. Soham Das is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA). He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, specializing in Conflict Studies and Political Methodology. His research interests encompass political violence, ethnopolitics, and electoral behavior, particularly in the Indian subcontinent. He also conducts research on diplomatic visits and political rhetoric. Methodologically, his work leverages regression analysis alongside computational techniques such as text mining and sentiment analysis. Currently, he is leading collaborative research projects on Sports Diplomacy, Political Rhetoric in India, and an institutional study at the Jindal India Institute titled ‘State Visits as Strategic Diplomacy and Economic Outreach’. Before joining JGU in 2021, he was a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at UT Dallas, contributing to DARPA-funded machine learning and AI initiatives.
