Biography

Rohith Jyothish is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of International Affairs, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat. He is a political economist with research interests in:

• Public Finance (fiscal federalism, natural resource taxation, social policy)
• Political Economy (welfare regimes, energy transition, state capacity)
• Labour Studies (labour processes in the information technology sector, informal labour in the global south, India’s energy transition and livelihoods)

He is trained in both qualitative and quantitative research methods such as sampling and surveys, unstructured interviews, and panel data econometrics using R software. He was an Assistant Editor at the peerreviewed scholarly journal, Big Data & Society in January 2021 - May 2023. Prior to academics, he worked with civic media, non-profit organisations, think tanks, and social movements.
