Dr. Kim Emmanuel earned her PhD at Warwick University and completed postgraduate studies at Oxford University and the University of the West Indies. She holds a BSc. from the latter. She has served in diplomatic and foreign policy roles and has garnered a wealth of experience in international affairs. She was also a tutor with the Political and International Studies Department at Warwick University and has held teaching positions at the University of the West Indies. Her research focuses on China’s emergence in Latin America and the Caribbean, inclusive of its economic and geopolitical dimensions. She has presented her research at the International Studies Association Conference (ISA, 2019). A current project is centered on perceptions of China’s rise in developing states in the Americas hemisphere.
