Biography

I am Kunal Rai, a researcher and educator with a passion for mathematics, statistics, finance, and data science. I have submitted my Ph.D. Thesis in Decision Sciences Area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) and I awaiting thesis defence. My PhD research focuses on developing statistical methods for analysing complex time series data and applying machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems in finance and climate science. Before joining IIM Bangalore, I completed an Integrated BS–MS in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal. I have taught courses such as Sampling Techniques, Linear Algebra, and Real Analysis to undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral students. My research interests include mathematical statistics, financial econometrics, quantitative finance, machine learning, multivariate time series analysis, and data imputation. I have presented my work at several national and international conferences and continue to work on projects related to financial markets, climate modelling, and predictive analytics.
