Biography

Simran Gupta is a Lecturer at the Jindal School of Banking and Finance (JSBF) in the finance domain. She is pursuing her Ph.D. from the Department of Finance and Business Economics, University of Delhi, in the area of sustainable finance, ESG, banking, and corporate finance. She completed her Master of Commerce and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Delhi. She has published research articles in reputed journals such as Finance Research Letters and International Journal of Disclosure and Governance. She has also published various case studies and technical notes with Ivey Publishing, as well as a case study with Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies.

She received the Best Paper Award at the Doctoral Consortium of the 5th International Conference on Management of MSMEs 2026, organized by IIM Amritsar, in January 2026. She received the 2nd Best Case Study Award, presented by the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Delhi, in 2025. She received an international travel grant from the ICSSR to attend the SIBR conference in Bangkok in 2025. She received a Certificate of Merit at the All India Management Association (AIMA) case writing competition, held in May 2025. She won third prize at the case writing competition conducted by UPES, Dehradun, in March 2025, and first prize at the case writing competition held at FIIB in October 2024.

Her research interests lie in corporate finance, sustainable finance, and banking. At JSBF, she teaches the subjects Derivatives & Risk Management and Market Risk Measurement and Management.
