Biography

Dr. Priya Dhawan is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF), O.P. Jindal Global University, Haryana, India. She has recently completed her Ph.D. in Finance from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and a PhD Master Class from the University of Melbourne. She has two publications in leading ABDC-A ranked finance journals, namely Emerging Markets Review and Pacific- Basin Finance Journal. Her doctoral thesis examines the impact of CSR engagement on idiosyncratic volatility, systemic risk exposure, and financial distress among Indian firms.

She holds a Master of Commerce (M.Com) from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com. Hons.) from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Her teaching interests include Financial Management, Investment Analysis, and Management Accounting, and she follows a student-centric approach to teaching.

She has presented her research at several reputed national conferences, including those organised by IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, ISB Hyderabad, SEBI–NISM, and IIT Delhi Open House, as well as international conferences such as the Financial Management Association Annual Meeting, European Financial Management Association Annual Meeting, Sydney Banking and Financial Stability Conference, and the Asian Finance Association Annual Conference. She has received multiple academic recognitions, including the “First Position” in the Best Paper Award at the SEBI–NISM International Research Conference, the Research Excellence Travel Award (RETA) and Research Scholar Travel Award (RSTA) from IIT Delhi, a research scholarship from ISB Hyderabad, and an international travel grant from the ICSSR.

She has also served as a reviewer and discussant for leading international conferences, including the Financial Management Association, Southern Finance Association, Eastern Finance Association, and European Financial Management Association, and as an ad-hoc reviewer for reputed journals such as the International Review of Financial Analysis (ABDC: A) and Emerging Markets Review (ABDC: A).
