Biography

Dr. Awadhesh K. Pandey is an Assistant Professor of Data Science & Analytics at Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF) at O.P. Jindal Global University (Institution of Eminence, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India). He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from IIT Dhanbad. His academic and research journey has been enriched by diverse experiences in teaching, research, and applied statistical analysis, enabling him to develop strong expertise in statistical modelling, computational statistics, parameter estimation, and survey sampling. His research focuses with broader interests in computational statistics, sampling theory, statistical inference and parameter estimation. He has published research in reputed international journals and presented his work at national and international conferences, including those hosted by IITs, NITs, and Middlesex University. With a strong passion for teaching and academic engagement, Dr. Pandey has taught a wide range of subjects, including Quantitative Techniques for Managers, Business Statistics, Applied and Advanced Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematical Statistics, Business Research Methods, Probability and Statistics, Statistical Inference, Sampling Theory and Design of Experiments. His teaching philosophy emphasizes connecting statistical concepts with practical applications, data-driven problem solving, and contemporary business and management challenges. Prior to JSBF, O.P. Jindal Global University, Dr. Pandey served as an Assistant Professor at UPES Dehradun and DIT University, Dehradun. He has also held academic roles as Research Coordinator at DIT University and program Coordinator for BBA Analytics & Big Data at UPES. Earlier, he worked as a Project Fellow on DST-sponsored projects at Before joining JSBF, O.P. Jindal Global University, Dr. Pandey served as an Assistant Professor at UPES and DIT University, Dehradun. He has also held academic leadership roles as Research Coordinator at DIT University and Course Coordinator for BBA Analytics & Big Data at UPES. Earlier, he worked as a Project Fellow on DST-sponsored projects at DST-CIMS, BHU Varanasi, and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. Through his combined experience in research, teaching, academic administration, and statistical consulting, Dr. Pandey continues to contribute to the development and application of statistical methodologies while inspiring students and researchers to approach data and decision-making with analytical rigor and scientific curiosity.
