Biography

Anushka Verma is currently working as an Assistant Professor and Co-Chair of the Accounting area at the Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF), O.P. Jindal Global University. Her teaching expertise lies in the accounting and finance domain, covering subjects such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, and Marketing of Financial Services. She is also actively involved in student-related initiatives as a member of the Office of Student Welfare at JSBF.

She completed her PhD from the Department of Economics & Finance at Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, where she was a doctoral candidate and teaching assistant. Her thesis explored the impact of ICT diffusion on financial, economic, and sustainable development in SAARC countries, employing quantitative methods and econometric models. Her research falls under the broad area of Financial Economics, with a focus on development finance.

Anushka’s research interests include ICT diffusion, financial inclusion, economic growth, and sustainable development. She has published in reputed international journals such as the Australasian Journal of Information Systems (ABDC-A), Environmental Science and Pollution Research (SCI-Q1), Journal of Public Affairs (SCI-Q1), Poverty & Public Policy (SCI-Q1), and others. She has also presented her work at leading conferences, including the 57th Annual Conference of the Indian Econometric Society (TIES), the 6th SANEM Annual Economists’ Conference, and the AIB-South Asia Chapter Conference. She currently serves as a Guest Editor for Discover Sustainability, contributing to interdisciplinary research on global sustainability challenges.

Before her PhD, Anushka completed her B.Com (Hons.) from the University of Delhi and M.Com from Panjab University. She qualified the UGC-NET exam in her first attempt and secured the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Commerce in 2019.

Outside of academia, she enjoys charcoal sketching as a creative and meditative pursuit.
