Biography

Anushka Verma is currently working as an Assistant Professor and Co-Chair of the Accounting area at the Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF). Her teaching expertise lies in accounting and finance, where she teaches subjects such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, and Marketing of Financial Services. Anushka is also a member of the Office of Student Welfare at JSBF.

She completed her PhD from the Department of Economics & Finance at Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, where her thesis explored the impact of ICT diffusion on financial, economic, and sustainable development in SAARC countries, utilizing quantitative methods and econometric models.

Her research interests center on development finance, particularly ICT diffusion, financial inclusion, growth, and sustainable development. Anushka has contributed to esteemed international journals such as the Australasian Journal of Information Systems (ABDC-A), Environmental Science and Pollution Research (SCI-Q1), Journal of Public Affairs (SCI-Q1), and Poverty & Public Policy (SCI-Q1), among others. She has also presented her research at notable conferences, including the 57th Annual Conference of the Indian Econometric Society (TIES) at the University of Hyderabad, the 6th SANEM Annual Economists’ Conference (SAEC) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and the AIB-South Asia Chapter Conference at IIM Visakhapatnam, focusing on topics such as ICT diffusion and financial development.

Before pursuing her PhD, Anushka completed her B.Com (Hons.) from the University of Delhi and her M.Com from Panjab University. She qualified for the UGC-NET examination in her first attempt and secured the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Commerce in 2019.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Anushka enjoys charcoal sketching, a creative outlet that allows her to explore her artistic side during her leisure time.
