BBA (Hons.) Business Analytics

Business Analytics deals with the study, analysis, and interpretation of all data about businesses. The curriculum, focusing exclusively on Analytics, is uniquely designed for young minds who need to acquire the combination of skill sets of Business Management and Information Technology. The specialized programme is meant for those people who are interested to solve business problems in a data-driven manner. Hence, the curriculum covers Information Technology (IT), Statistical Methods as well as all business aspects in detail. 

The four-year fully residential BBA (Hons.)- Business Analytics degree programme at Jindal Global Business School (JGBS) is designed to give theoretical and practical knowledge to the students keen to pursue careers that leverage Analytics strengths in a variety of functions and industries. Data Analytics as a domain is transforming the way businesses and organizations work and grow across all industries, including, retail, manufacturing, banking & finance, healthcare, and sports. Data Analytics is helping organizations make better decisions, respond quickly, prevent downtime, mitigate risk, and improve overall performance.

JGBS has tied up with Deakin University of Australia for this BBA (Hons.) Business Analytics programme and hence the students will have the option to pursue their 3rd and 4th-year studies in Deakin after completing the first two years of study in JGBS and to get two degrees from two universities at the time of graduation. Of course, students can complete their degree in JGBS itself, in a total of 4 years.

Programme Structure

The BBA (Hons.) Business Analytics programme at Jindal Global Business School (JGBS) is a four-year undergraduate programme that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of business analytics and its applications in various industries. The programme is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become successful business analysts and data scientists.

The course structure is designed to give students a strong foundation in business and analytics principles, along with hands-on training in various tools and techniques used in data analysis. The programme includes courses such as Data Analytics, Business Statistics, Data Visualization, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning, and Big Data Analytics, among others.

In addition to the core courses, students can choose from a range of elective courses in areas such as Marketing Analytics, Financial Analytics, HR Analytics, and Supply Chain Analytics, depending on their interests and career goals. The curriculum also includes a capstone project in the final year, where students work on a real-world problem using the skills and knowledge gained during the programme.

Eligibility & Selection Process

Successful Completion of Class XII examination or equivalent (CBSE, ISC, IB, Cambridge, and other government-recognized school leaving examinations). Students securing more than SAT (1100 Marks) / ACT (27 Points) / UGAT or CUET – 60 Percentile & Above) are exempted from the JSAT (Jindal Scholastic Aptitude Test) entrance exam.

Mathematics is mandatory in standard 11th & 12th for this specialization.

The selection process of BBA (Hons.), BBA. (Hons.)- Business Analytics, BBA (Hons.) Financial Markets, BBA(Hons.) Family Business, Integrated BBA (Hons.)+MBA involves evaluation based on an applicant’s, Supplementary questions, Class X and XII scores, faculty interview, and JSAT/SAT/ACT/UGAT/CUET -2024

The online admission process for JGBS undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2024 is open. Please find the details of the selection process below.

Round 1- Application Assessment

  • To start your application, Apply Now and register with an active email address. Your login details will be sent to this email account after due verification. All relevant information will be communicated to the applicant at this registered email address.
  • The applicant should provide all the information sought in the application, both in the mandatory and non-mandatory sections, as it will help in better evaluation
  • Please keep scanned copies of the following documents handy for uploading
    • Class X Board Scores or Equivalent and Class XII Board
    • Scores or Equivalent (if completed)
    • Supplementary Applications
    • Passport Size Photograph
    • Competitive exam score

X and XII Board Exam Scores

  • Applicants are required to upload their Grades/Scores for class 10th (or equivalent) and class 12th (or equivalent). If the applicant does not have their Class XII grades/scores at the time of applying, he/she may mention ‘Awaited’ in the relevant column. Please note that the candidature of the application is decided taking broader patterns into consideration.

Supplementary Questions

  • For each programme, applicants will be asked to answer 2 mandatory questions.
  • Note: If you apply for multiple programmes, you have a different set of supplemental questions for each programme.

Passport Size Photograph

  • Please upload the recent front-facing picture(2 X 2) with a neutral background. Selfies not permissible. 

Qualifying Examination Score

  • Mention the relevant score(JSAT/ACT/SAT/UGAT/CUET-2024) in the application form
  • If an applicant is yet to appear for any qualifying examinations or is awaiting the examination results, he/she may click ‘Awaited’ in the relevant column. 
  • Students who have not appeared for SAT / ACT / UGAT / CUET – 2024 are encouraged to apply through JSAT – Jindal Scholastic Aptitude Test

Supported Documents for Extra-Curricular Activities

  • The applicant can attach relevant documents (certificates, artwork, writing samples, letters of recommendation, etc.) for the extra-curricular section to substantiate the listed activities.
  • Click Submit at the end, after you pay the application fee and complete the form.
  • An Online Application Number will be displayed upon successful submission of the form by making the payment. The applicant must use the ‘Application Number’ as a reference while communicating with us

Round 2- Entrance Examination

  • Applicants who have advanced to Round 2 will have to follow the below mentioned steps

Appearing for Entrance Exam(JSAT)

  • Students qualifying the minimum cutoff requirements in the entrance will be notified over call/e-mail and shall move to Round 3

Round 3- Faculty Interview

  • Applicants will be interviewed by a panel of JGBS faculty members. They are evaluated based on their Communication skills, confidence, curiosity, clarity of expression, and nuanced thinking

Important Instructions

  • Candidates shortlisted after Interview shall receive a Provisional Offer of Admissions over email
  • If an applicant does not respond within the stipulated time their application is declared inactive.
  • Candidates who are willing to enrol are required to pay the registration fee to secure a seat.

Waitlisted Applicants

  • Applicants may also be waitlisted depending on their results. Waitlisted applicants are requested to upload their XII results as soon as they are released. Such applicants may also be asked to do an additional interview.
