A Global Institution for Justice, Dialogue & Peace
From Civilisational Wisdom to Global Leadership

India’s Leadership in Justice
For millennia, India has sought truth not through conquest, but through conversation. From the Nyaya Sutras and the councils of the Buddha to the sabhas of the Mahabharata and the village panchayats, India’s civilisational journey has been one of dialogue and deliberation.
This heritage of reasoning — where justice is rooted in dharma and realised through debate — finds renewed life in IMAANDAAR.

A Moment of National Pride
On Saturday, 29th November 2025, eminent voices from the judiciary, academia, government, and global institutions will unite at O.P. Jindal Global University to inaugurate IMAANDAAR and dedicate the world’s largest Moot Court to the advancement of legal education and justice.
The occasion will mark India’s growing leadership in advancing justice through knowledge, integrity, and global engagement.

Global Aspirations, Indian Wisdom
Rooted in the timeless Indian faith that truth reveals itself through dialogue, IMAANDAAR stands at the confluence of ancient wisdom and global responsibility.
Guided by the ideals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions), it seeks to nurture a generation of jurists and advocates who view law not as a contest of arguments, but as a covenant of understanding.
Spaces Where Justice Comes Alive
The Independence of Judiciary
Comparative Perspectives on Rights, Institutions & Citizens
The inauguration of IMAANDAAR will be followed by a two-day global conference convening some of the world’s most distinguished jurists, scholars, and educators to reflect on how judicial independence anchors the rule of law and upholds the moral integrity of justice.

A Name that Embodies Integrity
IMAANDAAR is more than a name — it is a statement of principle. Every element of the name has been deliberately chosen to reflect the academy’s mission: to unite intellectual excellence with ethical purpose, and to remind all who enter its halls that true advocacy begins with integrity.

Empowering Women Through Law, Advocacy & Leadership
Justice is complete only when every voice has the power to shape it.
IMAANDAAR is committed to advancing women’s leadership across law, policy, and the judiciary — ensuring that equality is not an exception within justice, but its defining principle.
Through sustained mentorship, research, and collaboration, the academy will cultivate women who bring intellect, integrity, and empathy to positions of influence — advocates, judges, and mediators who expand both the reach and the meaning of justice.
A Temple of Law, Justice & Learning

The Architect
Stéphane Paumier, the French architect behind IMAANDAAR, is known for giving shape to ideas that matter. His work across India combines precision with empathy — buildings that respect culture, climate, and people. In IMAANDAAR, he brings form to a vision of justice that is both timeless and humane.
The Idea
The design of IMAANDAAR grows from a simple question: what should a place dedicated to justice feel like? It draws inspiration from India’s journey — from dharma to constitutionalism — and turns that heritage into space. The academy is imagined as a modern Temple of Justice: open, ordered, and built for reflection.

The Space
Light, proportion, and silence shape the experience of IMAANDAAR. Its vast volumes and measured geometry recall the dignity of the courtroom and the calm of the temple. Every surface and pathway invite reflection — creating a sense of focus, not formality; reverence, not distance.
The Experience
IMAANDAAR is more than a building — it’s a teacher. Its architecture reveals how law, like space, depends on balance. Within its walls, students learn that justice is not only written or spoken, but lived — in the way we move, listen, and share a common space.
