Biography

Anub Mannaan is an Associate Professor and Assistant Director at IIHEd. She has extensively worked in the field of education and child rights across India, particularly in contexts shaped by conflict, inequality, and marginalisation. Her work spans key areas such as Education in Emergencies, Education and Violence, and Skill Development.

Anub has led and contributed to programs focused on children in conflict with the law, skill-building for underprivileged youth, and access to education in conflict-affected regions. Her research explores critical themes including the impact of violence on educational access through intergenerational lenses, the implications of "new age warfare" on education for conflict-affected diaspora, and the feasibility of skill development initiatives in fragile settings. As a consultant to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), she examined winter schooling policies and practices in the Kashmir region.

Over the course of her career, she has worked with academic, government, non-government, and private sector institutions—bringing a rich, cross-sectoral perspective to her engagements in policy, practice, and research.

Anub holds an MPhil in Education Research from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in International Employment Relations and Human Resource Management from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Mumbai.
