Professor (Dr.) Saikat Majumdar is Professor of English and Creative Writing at Ashoka University. He is the author of College: Pathways of Possibility, a book on liberal arts education in India, Prose of the World, a book of literary criticism, and four novels, most recently, The Middle Finger, a college campus novel. He has taught previously at Stanford University, was a Newhouse Fellow at Wellesley College and a Fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study and writes regularly on higher education in different venues, including the Times Higher Education.
