Professor (Dr.) Hebatallah Adam is an academician, editor, and scholar with over 19 years of teaching and research experience in International Economic Development. She is an Associate Professor, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs (Master’ Programme) at Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA), Founder and Director of Jindal Centre for the Global South – O.P. Jindal Global University, Haryana – India. Before this, she was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University, Cairo-Egypt.

Dr. Adam is the visionary behind establishing the Jindal Centre for the Global South, a distinguished research centre affiliated with Jindal Global University’s (JGU) School of International Affairs. The primary mission of the Centre is to promote cutting-edge global research in fields such as Global South studies, South-South Cooperation, and Sustainable Development. Beyond that, it aspires to become an intellectual hub that fosters inventive solutions to the problems encountered by the Global South.

Dr. Adam has founded the Africa Dialogue Forum (ADF), an initiative to bring together a coalition of organisations and intellectuals committed to advancing the Better Africa Cause. The ADF is a forum for substantive conversations with internationally renowned experts, academicians, and influential African thought leaders. These dialogues are centred on extensive research and promoting innovative ideas and solutions to achieve measurable and sustainable transformations across Africa.

Dr. Adam has earned her B.A., MA, and PhD degrees from universities in Egypt and France, including Departement de Gestion et de Commerce International (D.G.C.I.) at Faculty of Business Ain Shams University, Poitiers University in France and I.A.E. de Paris – Sorbonne University, France. She has numerous publications in poverty, financial inclusion, fintech, Global South, international development, and development finance. Additionally, she has supervised Masters and PhD students from both India and Egypt.

Dr. Adam’s research interests relate to Global South Studies, Political Economy of Development, International Trade, Green Economics, and International Development Economics.
