University of London endows Scholarship in honour of Professor B.S. Chimni
The University of London has instituted the B.S. Chimni Scholarship in recognition of the accomplishments of internationally renowned legal scholar, international law expert and Distinguished Professor of International law at the Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) at JGU, Professor B.S. Chimni.
The prestigious scholarship for M.A. in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies by distance learning, which will be awarded in October 2021, has been created with a vision to support outstanding students who might not have access to the programme otherwise.
This endowed scholarship is a celebration of the achievements of Professor Chimni. He has always taken on positions of leadership to bring his rich body of knowledge and experience to various roles in the past, including his role as the Chairperson of the Centre for International Legal Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and Vice Chancellor of West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata.
He has also been elected Associate Member, Institut de Droit International. He is former Vice-President and at present member of the Advisory Council of Asian Society of International Law, and has served as a member of the Academic Advisory Committee of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
