JGU team qualifies for international rounds of 2020 Jessup Competition in Washington DC
The Jessup team from JGU has made it to the finals in the India Rounds of Jessup 2020 and will be participating in the international rounds to be held later in the year in Washington DC with some of the best teams in the world. The team was coached by Professor Aman, Assistant Professor, JGLS and supported by Anubhav Khamroi of the BA LLB 2015 batch as the Moot Court Society (MCS) Coordinator, as well as the rest of the MCS Board.
The team competed with Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai (in the quarter finals) and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) (in the semi-finals); and Faculty of Law, Jamia, Bennett University, Tamil Nadu National Law University and Maharashtra National Law University in the preliminary rounds. They lost to NALSAR in the Finals. Abhijeet Shrivastava (BA LLB 2018) received the award for the 2nd Best Oralist in the National Rounds. JGU is the only privateUniversity which has qualified from India for the World Rounds.
