To commemorate 10 years of Excellence in Institution Building, on August 30, 2019, SLCE hosted the renowned Indian film and stage actor-director Naseeruddin Shah to perform in the JGU campus his widely travelled show Einstein. The show was received by the students, faculty, and staff members with immense enthusiasm.
About the Show
Written by Gabriel Emmanuel and performed by Shah himself, the show presents Einstein in a more realistic light as a man who is riddled with guilt and disappointment for inadvertently creating the bomb which caused the devastating destruction in World War-II. The play highlights several interesting aspects of Albert Einstein’s complex personality, plagued by the fear of failure, self- doubt and disappointments making him relatable to contemporary spectators.The performance was followed by an audience interaction with the actor where he spoke about his career and the craft of acting, the value of theatre and how he has keeps himself ready for the task.
