Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is an institution engaged in the analysis of higher education institutions around the world. As a part of their activities, they annually publish the QS World University Rankings - one of the most influential university rankings globally.

While there are approximately 38000 universities globally, QS ranks only the top 1000.

There are five basic parameters that are used to rank universities in the QS World University Rankings.

Having commenced classes in 2009, we are now celebrating a decade of institutional excellence in higher education. In September 2017, OP Jindal Global University (JGU) first broke into the QS BRICS University Rankings 2018, placing us amongst the top 3% of nearly 9,000 universities in the BRICS region that are eligible for the QS international rankings.

This year, 21 Universities represent India in the QS World University Rankings 2021 (Top 1000). There are only three private universities in the list of top universities in India - Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (801- 1000), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (751-800) and OP Jindal Global University (651-700). This makes OP Jindal Global University the number one ranked private university in India

These top Indian universities as per the QS World University Rankings 2021 have scored very highly on ranking parameters. The Indian Institutes of Technology are ranked higher than most other top Indian universities due to their strength in research and reputation in STEM subjects. In fact, to find a university that is solely focused on social sciences, arts and humanities you would have to go past eight IITs, the Indian Institute of Science and Delhi University – to O.P. Jindal Global University. This makes us the highest-ranked Indian university, whether private or public, dedicated to the study of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.

For a prospective student, rankings should be extremely important. University rankings take into account a number of objective parameters that are relevant to Higher Education. High academic reputation implies that other academics and universities across the world view O.P. Jindal Global University in high regard. The same can be said in terms of our growing reputation amongst employers, which leads to our students having better career opportunities when they graduate. As per the QS World University Rankings 2021, we are now ranked amongst the top 450 universities in the world in terms of employer reputation.

As per the QS World University Rankings 2021, we are ranked amongst the top 300 universities in the world in terms of our faculty-student ratio, which presently stands at 1:9. What this implies is that there are more faculty members for our students, and our class sizes are smaller, which makes for greater and more meaningful engagement between faculty and students. This also means that our faculty members are more available to mentor our students.

The number of citations per faculty is reflective of our commitment to quality research, where each of our faculty members pushes the boundaries of human knowledge every day, and takes their students on this journey. This translates to high impact research which is then relied upon by corporates, governments, and academics across the world.

Our QS rankings are also reflective of our commitment to providing an international experience to our students. As per the QS World University Rankings 2021, we are also ranked amongst the top 500 universities in the world in terms of our international faculty, which makes up 14% of our total faculty strength. 80 of our faculty members come from 32 countries across the world including The United States of America, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany and South Korea. What this translates to, is a truly global experience at the OP Jindal Global University.
