Biography

Dr. Vivek Kumar Gaurav is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health and Human Development at O.P. Jindal Global University. A former Project Scientist at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), he brings substantial expertise in environmental health to his academic role. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from IIT Roorkee and has received advanced training in "Democratizing Sustainability" from TU Berlin, Germany. His professional experience further includes a Research Associate position in the ONGC-PAN IIT Project.

Dr. Gaurav's research spans ecological and health risk assessment, climate change impacts, environmental justice, and sustainability. He is a contributing author to the global study World Scientists' Warning of a Climate Emergency (BioScience, 2020), co-signed by thousands of scientists worldwide. He is a Lifetime Member of the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) and the Association of Environmental Analytical Chemistry of India (AEACI), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai. He serves as a Reviewer for the Journal of Exposure and Health (Springer Nature) and the International Journal of Environmental Sustainability, an Editorial Member of Acta Scientific Journal, and a Panel Judge at the Nisarg Foundation (US). He has delivered keynote and expert addresses at international forums across Australia, Malaysia, Africa, and India, on themes ranging from climate communication and water security to poverty, inequality, and urban resilience, making him a compelling voice at the interface of environmental science, public health, and global climate advocacy.
