Key Expertise | Priyesh, in his Aartistic practice and research, works with drawing, text, video, and found or appropriated materials. His work centers on exploring the role of language. Through various narrative configurations, poetics, literary devices, and typography, he investigates how language is used as a tool to navigate and withstand the complexities of a person, family, and society, to what extent, and how it brings forth new knowledge systems and experiences. He is also interested in the process of translation, transliteration, and transfiguration of one form to another. |

Priyesh Gothwal (b. 1993) is a visual artist. He completed his MFA from Shiv Nadar University (SNIoE), 2017 and was a resident artist at the Ashkal Alwan- Home Workspace programme in Lebanon, 2019-20. Priyesh is one of the founding members of the first draft and has initiated a series of book shows.
He manages and teaches in the BFA programme at JSLH, OP Jindal Global University (JGU), Sonipat and is based in Delhi.
Priyesh has been part of a study programme at Ashka Alwan HWS programme at Beirut, Labanon and has participated in several art residencies, workshops, exhibitions and open studios since 2017. He has also initiated two art collaborations: Firstdraft and Studio Jangpura.
