Jindal School Of Journalism And Communication

As India’s first global media school, the Jindal School of Journalism and Communication provides a vibrant scholarly setting for the study of journalism, film and new media studies. In today’s increasingly digital, interdisciplinary and interconnected environment, our students acquire the skills and knowledge to question the status quo. We emphasize both theory and practice, enabling our students to take a mindful approach to storytelling.

JSJC emphasizes hands-on multimedia training, a rigorous writing programme and the interdisciplinary social sciences, making us compatible with international media schools. Our students graduate with a greater understanding of the world, with technical skills in radio, film and TV production and find their feet as writers and storytellers.

Testimonials

My time at the JSJC was everything I had wanted my college life to be. JGU and JSJC they guided me to become a better student and a better person. The wealth of opportunities and information that was at my fingertips helped me get accepted into the London School of Economics and Political Science. My School’s Dean and Professors have all my gratitude."

Sumedha Maheshwari

M.A. candidate in Media and Communication
London School of Economics & Political Science
Valedictorian 2023

The JMS programme at JSJC had a holistic approach. We had interactive classes in the social sciences, through which, we explored stories from multiple perspectives. Even during the pandemic when everything was online, I was pushed to lead with empathy, to assume nothing and put in the work to find stories around me. It taught me how to adapt, be kind, and resilient. After all, even in the darkest of times, there is always a story to tell."

Ashima Pargal

MA Candidate of Digital Direction
Royal College of Art, United Kingdom
Valedictorian 2021

My time at JSJC was life-changing. It was here that I discovered the joy of reading and studying, for the first time. I think I am most thankful for faculty members who were genuinely interested in their students’ successes, and always approachable. Today, while pursuing my master’s, I look back at those three years with contentment."

Tushar Verma

I had the opportunity to intern at the Mint Lounge under HT Digital Streams Limited. I was working with the content management department, and was assigned the task of fact-checking, editing and proofreading all the articles that were to be published in the Saturday magazine. I was trained to edit and spot factual errors.I also learnt how to pitch story ideas and the entire process of writing, rewriting and multiple rounds of editing.”

Satvika Mahajan

Class of 2021

I joined the journalism school in 2017 and after three years I can say it has been one of my best decisions. The atmosphere at JSJC is not only welcoming but encouraging. I have interacted with many friends pursuing journalism degrees in other colleges across India. I have realised that JSJC has unconventional and skill-based courses as opposed to textbook learning. JSJC has not only provided me with real-time opportunities but also directed and shaped my interest in pursuing my higher education in human rights.”

Class of 2020

At the Jindal School of Journalism and Communication, I learned the importance of working within a deadline - a skill which is undoubtedly going to help me throughout my life in any field I choose to get into. Here at JSJC, there is a big emphasis on fact-checking and avoiding fake news. This is something which I feel is super important in a world where anyone can act as a journalist.”

One of the best parts about being in JSJC is that you can experiment. There is a lot of support, both academically and personally. You get the chance to see what works best for you as an individual. There is creative independence along with constructive critique. It is a space where you grow intellectually and as a person.”
