Selection Process of M.A. in Diplomacy, Law and Business

The admissions process of M.A. in Diplomacy, Law and Business is specifically designed to evaluate the intellectual ability and critical thinking capability of the applicants. This process is both rigorous and holistic that aims to gauge the suitability of the applicant for research-intensive Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA) programme.

The online admission process of M.A. in Diplomacy, Law and Business for the academic year 2022 is open. Please find the details of the selection process below.

Round 1

Application Assessment

To start your application, click here (hyperlinked to https://admissions.jgu.edu.in/) and register with an active email address. Your login details will be sent to this email account after due verification. All relevant information will be communicated to you at this registered email address only.

The applicant should provide all the information sought in the application, both in the mandatory and non-mandatory sections, as it will help in better evaluation.

Please keep scanned copies of the following documents handy for uploading.

  • Class X Board Scores or Equivalent, Class XII Board Scores or Equivalent and Graduation scores (if completed)
  • All applicants are required to submit Passport Size Photograph

X Board and XII Board Scores

Applicants are asked to upload their Grades/Score of X/Equivalent, XII/ Equivalent and Graduation scores. If the applicant does not have their Graduation scores at the time of applying, they can mention ‘Awaited’ in the relevant column. Please note that we look at an applicant’s scores in totality and consider the broader patterns.

Statement of Purpose

All applicants are required  to submit a statement of purpose with word limitation of (800-1200 words). This is a brief, reflective piece about themselves and their aspirations.

Note: Please ensure that the statement of purpose should be concise, readable and not password-protected.

Entrance Examination Score

Mention the entrance examination score in the application form.

If an applicant is yet to appear for any qualifying examinations or is awaiting the examination results, he/she may check ‘Awaited’ in the relevant column.

Passport Size Photograph

Please upload the recent front-facing picture (2 x 2) with a neutral background.

Click SUBMIT at the end, after you pay the application fee and complete the form.

An Online Application Number will be displayed when you successfully submit the online form by making the payment. Use this Application Number as a reference when you communicate with us.

 

Applicants will be notified if they have “Advanced to Round 2” or if their application has been “Rejected”.

Round 2

Applicants who have advanced to Round 2 will need to appear in the entrance examination:

Entrance Examinations

Applicants need to qualify an open book online test for getting into this course, this test consists three essay type questions (1500-2000 words) based on current affairs and other global issues. Round 3

  • Applicants will be notified if they have “Advanced to Round 3”, have been “Rejected”, or “Placed on the Waitlist”. Applicants who have advanced to Round 3 will receive a Provisional Offer of admissions.
  • Successful applicants are required to pay the Refundable Registration Fee* of Rs.50,000 to secure their seat.
  • Once the Graduation results are declared, applicants will be given their Final Offer of Admissions.
  • Applicants who would like to apply for a scholarship will submit their documents for consideration at this time.

*Refundable as per UGC Guidelines

Waitlisted Applicants

Applicants may also be waitlisted depending on their results. Waitlisted applicants are requested to upload their Graduation results as soon as they are released. Such applicants may also be asked to face an round of interview.

Application Process for M.A. in International Relations, Security and Strategy

The online MAIRSS programme requires an undergraduate degree from any recognised university in India or abroad. The admission process will include a review of academic transcripts and a statement of purpose.

All applicants will need to complete the MA IRSS admissions form. This application form will include basic details about the student, proof of identity, prior qualifications and a number of directed questions.

This course is open to students from all disciplines holding a Bachelor’s Degree: there are no prerequisites in terms of the courses undertaken at the Bachelor’s level. There is no maximum age for applications.

Cohorts and Deadlines

Programme cohorts begin in March and September of each year.

Applications for Fall 2023 cohort are now open. Classes start September 1st 2023.

Admissions for the same will be open from May 15th 2023.
