Meenuka Mathew is a Teaching & Research for Intellectual Pursuit (TRIP) Fellow & Academic Tutor at Jindal School of Government & Public Policy, O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU). She has a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities from Aquinas University, Colombo, Sri Lanka and a Masters degree in Public Policy from O.P. Jindal Global University, India. Her research focus is on policies related to refugee economies, the labour market, livelihoods, and Public Health.
She has worked and travelled extensively in Asia as an Asian Regional Coordinator for International Non-Governmental organizations based in the Philippines, France, and Uganda. She has also worked in programme design, monitoring & evaluation in Sri Lanka post-tsunami rehabilitation programme. Her work experience is mainly in programme management, public policy programme design, research communication and teaching.
She co-founded Policy Talks, which focuses on Public Policy Education.
At JSGP, she works on two types of research for the academic year 2020-2021; Refugee Labour Economics in India: Livelihoods of Afghan Refugees and a comparative analysis on the situation on medicines in South Asia: Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. She is currently also studying the Kerala Migrant Workers’ Crisis.
