Prof. Keerti holds a doctoral degree in Public Policy and Management from IIM Calcutta. His research focuses on Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), a specific category of patents that are used (so far) primarily in sectors like semiconductor, electronics, information and communication technology industries. He studies the anti-trust issues that arise out of the patents’ owners having this kind of market power and how these issues are compounded by the rights of the companies by virtue of owning the intellectual property, particularly from an Indian context. In addition to his focus on the technology sector and intellectual property issues surrounding this sector, he is also interested in pursuing research in the area of farmer distress – a topic that is very close to his heart given his upbringing in Telangana where farmer distress has been a perpetual issue. Keerti was the recipient of the prestigious Shastri Research Student Fellowship for doctoral students. Keerti’s papers were selected for presentation at multiple prestigious International conferences.
