Biography

Dr. Kil Jae Ahn is an architectural scholar whose research explores the intersection of emerging ICT technologies and the built environment. He believes that architecture is a discipline where the integration of technological innovation and real-world application must be studied in tandem.

His current work focuses on applying advanced tools such as generative AI, 3D scanning, and rapid prototyping to reimagine methods of spatial creation, representation, and fabrication. He is particularly interested in the potentials of image-to-3D model workflows, photogrammetry, Gaussian splatting, and parametric design to enhance both conceptual design thinking and production processes in architecture and related creative fields.

Through his teaching, Dr. Ahn seeks to bridge theoretical inquiry with hands-on experimentation, fostering an environment where students critically engage with cutting-edge digital tools while reflecting on their implications for design, art, and society.
