Ishita Jain graduated with a Bachelors in Architecture and a Bachelors in English Literature from Gujarat University. She has been teaching architectural history and design at Ahmedabad, Gujarat since 2015. After her post-graduation in Architectural History from Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, London she has developed a performative research methodology to investigate non-canonical and alternative historical accounts. Her chosen mediums of dissemination are films, cinetracts, performative lectures, exhibitions, critical writing and transmedia installations.
She is the Co-Founder of Living Midnight Narrative Outfit, a narrative based design and research think-tank; and Research Director and Founder at Scan the World – India, an initiative to digitize through 3D documentation the non-canonical cultural and architectural Indian artefacts. She is also a co-founding member of Out of India Artist Collective that produces scholarship as a form of art, and art as a form of scholarship.
