Tapati Chowdhury is a Lecturer at the Jindal School of Art and Architecture. She joined JGU in 2018. She is an educator, practicing artist, and research scholar. She is pursuing her PhD from Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Bengaluru. The tentative title of her PhD thesis is ‘Art during the Crisisin the 1940s Bengal and its Inheritance.’ She has completed her Master in Fine Arts (MFA) degree from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, Master in Visual Arts (MVA) degree from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, and Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) degree from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University. Her area of specialization is painting. She is interested in public and community art projects. She has worked on several public art projects in Denmark. She is affiliated with the Interior Environments program at JSAA. The courses she teaches are, 'Color and Texture,’ ‘Graphics, and Basic Design,’ ‘Different Practices,’ and a cross-elective course on drawing.
