Biography

Prof. Mohit is a heritage conservation enthusiast, with more than over a decade long experience with governmental, non-governmental and academic organizations, he has developed specialism within India in a range of ambitious projects involving participatory planning, implementation, and advocacy. He was the recipient of Charles Wallace India Trust fellowship (British Council) for the year 2012 and Global Cultural leadership fellow (European Commission) in the year 2018 and was on the Panel of Expert (Change Management) for European Capital of Culture (2021-2022).

Mohit believes in the notion that “Culture itself can be the catalyst for Social and Economic development”, of challenged historic cities, reflection of which can be seen in his associations with Aga Khan Trust for Culture Historic Cities Program, Stenness – Brodgar Conservation, NIUA -World Bank, Cities Alliance technical assistance, World Monument Fund, Archaeological survey of India, National Culture fund to name the few. He has collaborated with various educational institutes in India and actively involved in bridging the gap between architectural education and community through spearheading creative exercises.

With diverse research interests spanning across participatory planning, cultural heritage protection, urban conservation, climate adaptation , cultural diplomacy his publishing spans across national and international peer reviewed journals and developing strategy reports for national and International bodies. His present research focuses on developing an Inclusive revitalization model for old historic centers in Asia at by adopting a trans-disciplinary and systematic approach that integrates cultural heritage, multilevel governance, finance, social inclusion, traditional skills and lifestyles which would acts as a possible tool for change makers to make their cities inclusive, resilient and sustainable.
