Biography

Mona Bagla is a visionary Communication Designer and Interior Designer, conceptual and strategic thinker, and passionate educator with a distinguished career spanning over 28 years. She possesses a rich, cross-cultural design sensibility shaped by her professional experiences in India, the USA, Southeast Asia, and her engagements with EMEA and LATAM markets. Her body of work reflects a deep understanding of brand narratives, the nuances of visual storytelling, and the power of design to create meaningful impact. 

An alumna of Pratt Institute, Ringling College of Art and Design (USA), and Sophia Polytechnic, L.S. Raheja School of Architecture (India), Mona has developed a multidisciplinary approach that integrates branding, communication, packaging, space design, and conceptual storytelling. She is known for her intuitive ability to distill complex ideas into evocative design expressions, balancing aesthetics with strategic clarity. Her leadership style encourages collaboration, creativity, and thoughtful experimentation. 

Mona's portfolio includes collaborations with globally recognized organizations such as Airtel, Goldman Sachs, Duff & Phelps, Kroll, Philips, Standard Chartered Bank (India & UAE), Hewlett-Packard, UBS, New Delhi International Airport, Genesis Burson-Marsteller (now BCW Global), Indian Institute of Urban Settlements, UTV, Kingfisher Airlines, the Smithsonian Institution, Harvard Pilgrim, and the New York City Department of Small Business Services. 

In parallel with her professional practice, Mona has been deeply committed to design education. She has taught at institutions including OP Jindal Global University’s Jindal School of Art and Architecture in Sonipat, Haryana, UPES University in Dehradun, Strate School of Design in Bangalore (Visiting Professor), and Alliance University in Bangalore. 

Her areas of expertise include concept development, brand strategy, creative direction, storytelling, packaging, spatial design, and academic mentorship. A new passion in her creative journey is exploring Conceptual Data Visualization and creating and curating immersive multi-sensory gastronomic experiences.

Mona continues to inspire the next generation of designers by fostering curiosity, cultural empathy, and critical inquiry in every learning environment she engages with.
