Biography

Khushboo Khanna is an architect and Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA), where she has been teaching since 2022. She holds a Master’s degree in Urban Recreation Architecture from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi, where she was awarded the university gold medal. Prior to joining JSAA, she worked with several architecture and interior design practices across a range of projects.

At JSAA, she teaches core design ateliers including Projection Drawing, Forensic Analysis, Stuff and Space, Representation Lab, and Form and Structure. Her pedagogy emphasizes critical thinking, contextual engagement, and design as a tool for spatial inquiry and transformation.

Her research focuses on the intersections of design, accessibility, and spatial equity, with a particular emphasis on wayfinding systems for people with disabilities. She is also engaged in studying temporary and informal practices in urban and peri-urban areas, with a specific focus on the roles and conditions of women in informal labor. Her work examines how these practices both influence and respond to the built environment. She has published several Scopus-indexed articles in these areas.

In addition to her academic work, Khanna has contributed significantly to institution-building at JSAA. She currently serves as Assistant Dean of the Industry Interface Office, a position she has held since April 2023, and since August 2024, with a focus on the Architecture Environments Programme. She previously served as Assistant Dean of Student Experience, and has represented the school on both the University Student Disciplinary Committee and the Disability Support Committee.

She has coordinated national and international conferences, curated lecture series, led summer programs, and served on university-level award committees—further supporting student development, academic enrichment, and external collaborations.
