Inside JGU 2019 - Issue 10 (October)

India’s first multi-disciplinary undergraduate degree in legal studies was launched at the Jindal Global Law School on 16 October 2019 at JGU. The programme aims to develop legal imagination while building a sound understanding of the history and organisation of legal systems from national, international and comparative perspectives.

The BA (Hons.) Legal Studies strives to familiarise students with major legal and political discourses while imparting skills essential for the performance, pre-legal and paralegal works as well as preparing them for careers in law, judiciary, academia and public service.

The programme launch was preceded by a special address by Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice-Chancellor of JGU. Professor Stephen P. Marks, Francois-Xavier Bagnoud, Professor of Health and Human Rights at Harvard University delivered a lecture on ‘Changing the World through Law’. This programme was attended by more than 250 high school students.
