Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education (JILDEE) has been exploring and opening doors across various organisations in government and public sector undertakings for imparting executive education for middle and senior level officers. In October 2020, JILDEE, in academic collaboration with Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), successfully launched 5 online programmes in training of various officers. These online programmes were covered through the licensed application of Zoom video conferencing and securely covered across all locations in India. The COVID-19 disruption prompted JILDEE to show agility and innovation in bringing about a digital transformation to ensure the continuity in the training journeys of officers across all sectors.
JILDEE builds up the concept of application of the theory into practice and practice into theory. JILDEE focuses on working closely with an organisation to understand its need for training and delivers programmes customised to each organisation’s unique goals and purpose.
In October 2020, JILDEE conducted 5 training programmes on the themes as detailed below.
1. Anti-Fraud Framework, Financial and Digital Forensics
JILDEE, in conjunction with JIBS, has collaborated with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) for conducting a 4-day online training programme on “Antifraud Framework, Financial and Digital Forensics’ conducted from 5 to 8 October 2020. This programme was specially designed for auditors from CAG office.
Dr. Sanjeev P. Sahni, Principal Director – JIBS, Professor & Member, Governing Body and Advisor to the Vice Chancellor, was the academic director of this programme. He ensured the right blend of faculty and academic content with relevant real-time case studies which enriched the delivery of the programme to the optimum level. He also delivered one session during the programme which was very well appreciated and participants gave an overall good feedback.
Lt. Gen. Rajesh Kochhar, Senior Director – JILDEE, inaugurated the programme online with a brief introduction of JGU and the objectives of the programme. All sessions were moderated by Mr. Amit Mohapatra, Joint Director, JILDEE, via live Zoom video conferencing with CAG officers participating across India.
2. International Development Cooperation and Inclusive Economic Growth in India with a focus on MSME and Women Enterprises
JILDEE, in conjunction with JIBS, has collaborated with The Asia Foundation, India office & KDI School, Korea, for delivering an online training programme on ‘International Development Cooperation and Inclusive Economic Growth: MSMEs and Women’s Enterprises’ from 13 to 15 October and 20-21 October 2020. This Programme was specially designed for delegates from Korea and was a part of the project to enable Korean professionals undertake study and research work on different Asian countries. The Academic Director for the programme, Prof Gaganpreet in conjunction with Programme Coordinator, Amit Mohapatra, have ensured to tie up all loose ends to make this programme successful.
The main focus of the programme was to discuss and deliberate upon various entrepreneurial challenges and opportunities in setting up women enterprises and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The participants were provided the valuable opportunities to learn about India and the trend/situation of MSMEs and Women’s enterprises in the country. This programme will be a forerunner for future programme with JGU and The Asia Foundation (TAF).
3. Unlocking the Secrets and Science of Happiness
The programme aimed to bring a behavioural shift in the personalities of the learners through regular practice of techniques discussed in the session which results in efficiency, effectiveness, dynamism, and harmony in professional as well as personal life. This programme sought to familiarise participants with happiness and the various tools, techniques and strategies that can be utilised to be and stay happy in any situation in life.
Dr. Sanjeev P. Sahni, Principal Director – JIBS, Professor, Member, Governing Body and Advisor to the Vice Chancellor, was the academic director of this programme. Several topics covered in the programme: Stress Management and Performance Enhancement, Emotional Intelligence for a Happier You, Anxiety Management, Happiness at Work Place, Practical Positive Psychology – Developing Life Skills, etc.
4. Financial Management
The programme conducted for CAG officers was a very well structured course; the participants were able to see the practical side of advanced concepts in financial management with many case studies to solve. The programme was led by Prof. Dr. Anand Mishra, Professor & Vice Dean, Jindal School of Banking and Finance, who choose the right blend of faculties with industry and academia experience to deliver the programme.
The participants came from various parts of India with an expertise in audit and financial analysis with an average experience of 22 years.
5. Vigilance Awareness
JILDEE had launched this exclusive programme for THDC, a hydroelectricity generation undertaking of the government of Uttar Pradesh and government of India. The programme was conducted online for THDC officers as part of the Vigilance Awareness week conducted by all public sector undertakings for awareness of curbing corruption and checking vigilance aspects of the organisation. Many topics were covered during the programme: Preventive Vigilance, Objective of Preventive vigilance, Tools of preventive vigilance; science of investigation; suspension; deemed suspension; vigilance administration; CVC: its powers, functions and jurisdiction; complaints and analysis of complaints, etc.
