JILDEE conducts online training programmes

In March 2021, Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education (JILDEE), in academic collaboration with Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) and Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA), successfully launched 3 online programmes of training for government officials. These programmes were delivered via Zoom video conferencing and covered participants from across India. The Covid-19 disruption prompted JILDEE to bring about a digital transformation to ensure the continuity of its training programmes.

The 3 programmes are detailed below:

 1) Online training programme of ‘How to Say it at Work: Skills to Communicate with Superiors’

JILDEE in collaboration with JIBS and Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCI) conducted a three-day online training programme on ‘How to Say it at Work: Skills to Communicate with Superiors’ during 17-19 & 22-24 March. This programme was specially designed for the officers of PGCI.

Prof. Dr. Sanjeev P. Sahni, Principal Director, JIBS, Professor & Member, Governing Body and Advisor to the Vice Chancellor, was the academic director of the programme. He ensured the right blend of faculty and academic content with relevant real-time case studies to enrich the programme. He also delivered 4 sessions (for both batches) of the programme.

Lt. Gen. Prof.(Dr.) Rajesh Kochhar, Senior Director JILDEE & Professor of Practice, JSIA, inaugurated the programme. All sessions were moderated by Mr. Amit Mohapatra, Joint Director, JILDEE.

Several topics were covered in the programme, including Effective Communication Skills, Emotional Intelligence, Business Communication, Crisis and Assertive Communication, Deciphering Body Language.

2) Online training programme on ‘Team Development and Performance Enhancement’

JILDEE in collaboration with JIBS conducted an online training programme for officers of Haryana Civil Services (HCS) and its subsidiaries during 25-26 March on ‘Team Development and Performance Enhancement’. The programme was led by Prof (Dr) Sanjeev P Sahni, Principal Director, JIBS, Professor and Member of Governing Body and Advisor to the Vice Chancellor.

The programme was inaugurated by Lt Gen (Dr.) Rajesh Kochhar, Senior Director, JILDEE and Amit Mohapatra, Joint Director, JILDEE.

The training programme covered several topics such as Mind-Body Relationship, Understanding Self and Others using Emotional Intelligence, People Skills for Effective Team Deployment, building a High Performance Team, Positive Psychology for Workplace Wellness, Managing and Leveraging Diversity for Success, Use of Humour for Team Success and Performance Enhancement.

3) Online Training Programme on ‘International Relations and Geopolitics’

JILDEE in association with JIBS and Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) conducted a two-day online training programme on ‘International Relations and Geopolitics’ from 31 March to 1 April. The Programme was specially designed for the officials of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dharamsala.

Prof. (Dr.) Sreeram Sundar Chaulia, Professor and Dean, JSIA, was the academic director of this programme. He ensured the right blend of faculty who had prior experience in dealing with the Indo-China relations or events to conduct the programme. He also delivered one session.

Lt. Gen. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kochhar, Senior Director, JILDEE and Professor of Practice, JSIA, inaugurated the programme. All sessions were moderated online by Mr. Amit Mohapatra, Joint Director, JILDEE, with CTA officials participating from Dharamsala.

There were several topics covered such as Basic Theories of International Relations, China-US Rivalry and World Politics, India’s National Security and Foreign Policy, Trade, Commerce and Economic Diplomacy, Human Rights and Self-Determination: Tibet, Hong Kong, and Xinjiang, Geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific and Understanding Xi Jinping’s China.
