JGU students excel in inter-university sports competitions

 

JGU sports teams participated in the National Law Tournament (Justice League’19) at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar from 7th to 10th of February 2019 and performed exceedingly well. Some of the best universities from across India participated in the tournament. The JGU teams of swimming, athletics, football and kabaddi performed exceptionally well, outshining the other sports contingents.

In addition, RedBull, as part of its international hunt for exceptional football players, recently hosted the Neymar Jr. five a side tournament at JGU on 13 February 2019. The tournament saw the active participation of 16 teams from across the schools of JGU. A one-day affair, the Neymar tournament ended with a final between Pablo FC and Peaky Blinders, with Pablo FC making it through to the city qualifiers held at the Adidas Base in Chattarpur, Delhi. The national winners will make their way to Brazil to train with Neymar himself and will be supported by RedBull as they attempt to make their way into professional football.
