JGU Professor receives 2021 Best Published Article Award from Comparative and International Education Society South Asia

Professor (Dr.) Mousumi Mukherjee, Associate Professor & Deputy Director, IIHEd,  has received the 2021 Best Published Article award by the Comparative and International Education Society  South Asia during the 65th Annual Meeting on the theme, ‘Social Responsibility within Changing Contexts’ held virtually this year during  25April – 2May, 2021. She won the award for her article titled, ‘Southern Theory and Postcolonial Comparative Education’ published in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Education, Oxford University Press. Professor Mukherjee’s article can be accessed here: Founded in 1956, Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) is one of the oldest and most respected society of scholars in the field of comparative education. The published article was reviewed again by anonymous CIES reviewers based on the following criteria:
  • Contribution to the advancement of knowledge on educational issues in the South Asian region and South Asian diaspora
  • Contribution to an area of study or methodology underrepresented in studies of education in South Asia
  • Clearly described approach and appropriate grounding in theoretical/conceptual framework and methodology
  • Relevance to broader debates in the field
