JGU organises workshop for Afghan Faculty Training Programme
The International Institute for Higher Education Research and Capacity Building (IIHEd) at JGU in association with Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP), Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA) and Ball State University, Indiana, USA, organised a workshop for the ‘Afghan Faculty Training Programme’ on ‘Clustering: From the Big Bang to the Current Globalization’ on January 15, 2019. The workshop was conducted by Anil K. Bera, Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign’s Department of Economics.

Professor Bera is an eminent econometrician, best known for developing the Jarque-Bera test of normal distribution in collaboration with Carlos Jarque. Professor Bera is a post-graduate from ISI Kolkata and completed his doctoral research at Australian National University. He has published extensively and is named in the List of Teachers Rated as Excellent almost every semester he teaches. He received the Economics Graduate Students’ Organization (EGSO) Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching eight times since 1989, the College of Commerce Alumni Association Outstanding Teaching Award for Graduate Teaching in 1991 and Honorable Mention of the Campus Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Teaching in 2005.
