JGU organises ASEAN and Indian Higher Education Leaders’ Conference
The Office of International Affairs & Global Initiatives at JGU organised the ASEAN and Indian Higher Education Leaders’ Conference on the theme “Achieving Research Excellence” within ASEAN & Indian Universities, at JGU on 28 January 2019. The conference was attended by higher education leaders from the ASEAN region, Europe, UK, USA, Middle East and Australia. The discussion at the conference was themed around novel approaches to funding research, industry-academia interface for research and innovation, and creating an institutional environment supporting interdisciplinary research.
The primary objective of the conference was to provide a platform where leaders from various regions, in particular the ASEAN, can share and express their experiences and ideas in order to achieve academic excellence in the emerging national, international as well as local context. The platform also aims to develop a mechanism to support and encourage meaningful dialogue and mutual cooperation among the universities across borders for better outcomes in teaching and research
