JGU launches report on “Diversity & Inclusion: Towards Building a Diverse, Equitable and Global University”
JGU has launched a first of its kind report on “Diversity & Inclusion: Towards Building a Diverse, Equitable and Global University” and organised a seminar on “Diversity, Inclusion & Internationalisation: Comparative Perspectives” on March 19, 2019 at the Jindal Global Educational and Professional Academy, NTH complex, New Delhi.
In the report, the JGU highlighted its progress on sixteen indicators: national origin, state origin, gender parity, age, religion & caste, educational & professional background, disability, academic oﬀerings & interdisciplinarity, pedagogy, research & disciplinary diversity, international collaborations & partnerships, governance & leadership, student financial inclusion, inclusive teaching & learning, gender identity & sexual orientation, and community outreach & engagement. The report highlights key outcomes and gaps for improving JGU’s performance on diversity and inclusion, in addition to how the university is aligned with the objectives and priorities of JGU’s Strategic Vision 2029.
The guests of honour were: Hon’ble Ms. Justice Sabrina S. McKenna, Judge, Supreme Court of Hawai’i, USA; Hon’ble Mr. Justice Michael D. Wilson, Judge, Supreme Court of Hawai’i, USA; and Professor (Dr.) Virander S. Chauhan, Chairman, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Distinguished speakers and panelists included: Professor (Dr.) Stephen P. Marks, François-Xavier Bagnoud Professor of Health and Human Rights, Harvard University, USA; Professor (Dr.) Shiv Visvanathan, Professor & Vice Dean, Jindal Global Law School; Professor (Dr.) N.V. Varghese, Vice Chancellor, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA); Professor (Dr.) Jatin Bhatt, Pro Vice Chancellor, Ambedkar University Delhi; and Professor (Dr.) Rupamanjari Ghosh, Vice Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University.
