JGU celebrates India’s 73rd Independence Day
JGU celebrated India’s 73nd Independence Day on the University campus on 15 August 2019. The chief guest at the event was H.E. Mr. Andre A. Correa do Lago Ambassador of Brazil to India Brazilian Embassy in New Delhi, India.
About H.E. Mr. Andre A. Correa do Lago:
The Brazilian Ambassador, H.E. Andre A. Correa do Lago presented his Letters of Credentials to the President of India on 7 December 2018. Prior to it, he was the Ambassador to Japan between 2013 and 2018. As a diplomat, since 1983, he has held functions in Brasilia in areas such as trade promotion, international organisations, protocol, sustainable development, energy and climate change. Abroad, he has served at the Brazilian Embassies in Madrid (1986-88), Prague (1988-91), Washington, DC (1996-99) and Buenos Aires (1999-2001) and at the Mission to the European Union, in Brussels (2005-08). He was Director – General of the Department of Energy of the Ministry of External Relations between 2008 and 2011 and Director – General of the Department of the Environment of the Ministry of External Relations between 2011 and 2013; Chief Negotiator for Climate Change and for Rio+20 Conference (2012). Mr. Correa do Lago holds a degree in Economics and a degree in Diplomacy.
