JGU celebrates 70th Republic Day

JGU celebrated India’s 70th Republic Day on 26 January 2019 with an event on the university campus. The event began with patriotic songs, followed by a guard of honour. Following the flag hoisting accompanied by the national anthem, Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, JGU delivered the welcome address. Professor R. Sudarshan, Dean, Jindal School of Government and Public Policy spoke on the “Significance of the Republic Day Celebrations”. Following this, Chief Guest, H.E. Rabie Narsh, Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to India addressed the gathering. Professor (Dr.) Y.S.R. Murthy, Registrar, JGU gave concluding remarks. 

About the Chief Guest  

H.E. Rabie Narsh
Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to India

Mr. Narsh has been the Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to India since February 2018. In his long and illustrious career, he has held many important positions which include, among others, Counselor – Embassy of Lebanon in Ankara, Turkey, Secretary – Embassy of Lebanon in Turkey, Chargé d’ affairs of the Embassy of Lebanon, Turkey, Director of the Bureau of the Secretary-General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Beirut, Lebanon, Head of Palestine Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Chargé d’ Affairs of the Embassy of Lebanon in Freetown, Sierra Leone, member of National Committee against Money Laundering, National Committee for Fighting Terrorism Financing, Lebanese- Palestine Dialogue Committee (LPDC) and Committee for the Employment of Palestine Refugees in Lebanon(CEP). He has completed PhD prerequisite courses and dissertation final drafting (in Constitutional Laws), Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Lebanese University, Diploma in Administrative Reform and Development from the Lebanese Public Sector as a case study, from Ecole Nationale d’ Administration Et De Développementbeirut (ENAD) and B.A. in Political and Administrative Studies.
